¬ GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
NEW – Blood Drive Success
From Canadian Blood Services: “Thank you to the school for hosting and to all the staff, students, parents and community members for supporting. From the results I’ll share below, you can see what a wonderful success it was:
84 people attended
- 71 units of blood collected on an 81-unit target, so 88% - amazing!
- 48 new donors attended and 41 of those were students – just fantastic!
- 8 donors added to the stem cell registry as well”
Thank you to the students, staff and community members who contributed to and supported the blood drive. We had a number of former students come back to donate, a former student was a volunteer at the event, and a current student signed up to become a volunteer!
Thank you to those who donated, attempted to donate, encouraged students to donate, allowed students to miss your classes to donate, and shared personal stories related to the importance of blood products.
Special thanks to Avery Q, Maxine G, Aaron B for set-up/take down support, the PHE department for giving up their teaching space, and the Key Club for distributing flyers in the community.
Bling out your Book!!
Come to the Learning Commons and bedazzle your books! TODAY, and every MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY at lunchtime until the end of classes, bring a friend and we’ll supply the rhinestones and tools…YOU bring your book! Or journal! Or planner!
