¬ ATHLETICS

NEW – CSI Rowing

Over Mother's Day weekend, the rowers competed in the Shawnigan Lake Regatta. Highlights included some epic podium finishes:

-Our Novice rowers placed first in the quad.

-Bronwyn ETTLES placed third in the U19 single.

-It was also a standout weekend for Aaron SIRNA and Tim SABOROWSKI, who won all three of their races and helped the Junior 8+ achieve its first win of the season.

The Senior 8+ had a tight race against Brentwood. While they beat them at the last regatta, this time they came in second by just a few seconds. This has fired up the team, and they have their eyes on a big win at Nationals in only two weeks!

1st Place:
U17 Men 8+: Kiva / Aaron / Myles / Tim / Emil / Joao / Linden / Evan / Matt
U17 Men 2x: Aaron / Tim
U17 Men 4x+: Kiva / Aaron / Tim / Emil / Myles
U17 Novice Men 4x+: Will / Marcello / Callum / Brandon

2nd Place:
U19 Men 4+: Sabrina / Luis / Isaac / Jan / Cedric
U19 Men 8+: Sabrina / Ethan / Nathaniel / Andrei / Luis / Caspar / Jan / Isaac / Jackson
U19 Men 2-: Luis / Jan
U19 Mixed 2x: Ethan / Paige
U19 Men 4x: Nathaniel / Andrei / Caspar / Cedric

The Senior Men's 8+ had an eventful week that continued at Elk Lake. They had the privilege of joining a practice with the Canadian National Team's Women's 8+, who are currently training for the Olympics. The team did some competitive side-by-side pieces with them, giving them a taste of what an elite training environment is like.

Go Spartans!
