IBPOC
The next IBPOC meeting will be TOMORROW, October 29 at lunch in Rm. 201. This group is a space for students who identify as indigenous, black, and people of colour, as well as active allies, to connect and build community. IBPOC is used (rather than BIPOC, an acronym originating in the USA around 2010) in efforts to recognize ‘First Peoples first’ because of the unique history and context of colonization, displacement, and cultural genocide enacted upon Indigenous peoples in Canada and the ongoing national conversation about reconciliation.
