National Day for Truth & Reconciliation - FRIDAY Sept 30
FRIDAY Sept. 30 will be the second National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day is to honour the lost children & survivors of residential schools, their families and communities, learn from the past, and make changes for the present and future. Students will not be in session on FRIDAY. On THURSDAY Sept.29, at Claremont, we will honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools by wearing orange.

After School Homework Club
For all students who would like extra help in academic classes, help from Education Assistants is available four days a week (MONDAY-THURSDAY) for one hour after school in room 235. All academic subjects are welcome, but especially if you are struggling in Math & Science. This is open to all students in all grades.
Found: Insulin Injector
If you have lost an insulin injector, one was found in the school and can be picked up the office.
Salad Bar
The salad bar is open MONDAYS – THURSDAYS at lunch. Come enjoy fresh greens from the Claremont garden and toppings!

Tennis
Tennis anyone? All students are welcome to join the Tennis Club on WEDNESDAYS and FRIDAYS after school on the lower courts. Bring your own racquet; tennis balls are provided. See Mr. Gardner with any questions.

YCI
The YCI Club (Youth for Change and Inclusion) will be having their first meeting TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY) at lunch in room 324 (Ms. Milne's room). New members are welcome! YCI promotes positivity, mental wellness, and inclusion at Claremont and in the community.
GSA
The Gender and Sexuality Alliance "GSA" will be having their first meeting THIS THURSDAY at lunch in room 320. Everyone welcome! Email or see Ms. G-C if you want more information.

Grads Photos start soon! Prestige Portraits by Lifetouch is bringing their portable photo studio to Claremont for a limited time: October 11 – 21. Grads can start booking appointments now. Please go to the LINK either 1) on the Claremont website under “Latest School News” or 2) on the Grad Google Classroom. Enter your province (BC), your city (Victoria) and your school (Claremont) to log in and book your appointment. Don't put this off until later, or all of the on-site appointments will be booked up and you will run out of time

Canadian Universities Event (CUE) – Oct.4
CUE is a great opportunity to connect with University representatives from 50+ Institutions across Canada, and learn more about Post Secondary Options! For this event, priority is given to Grade 12 students, but Grade 11 students are also welcome.

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at 2379 Bevan Avenue in Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30-7:30pm for help with any medical concern (physical, mental, and sexual health).
