Self-Defence Workshop: May 27
Would you like to learn some basic techniques in self-defense? Come to a fun workshop TODAY at lunch in the big gym. Our very own Aryaman MITTAL is a Karate National Champion and Team Canada member, and he will be leading us through some self-defense skills. This workshop is part of his Capstone project and is open to all students and staff. No sign up is necessary… just bring a friend and join in!
NEW - Bling out your Book!!
Starting THIS FRIDAY, then every MONDAY, WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY until the end of classes: bring a friend and come to the Learning Commons at lunchtime and bedazzle your books! We’ll supply the rhinestones and tools…you bring your book! Or journal! Or planner! And we’ll have bookmarks to bling out too! See Mrs. Wadsworth for more info!

NEW - Sign-up for Grad Banquet Tables – June 3 & 4
Grads, it is time to think about who you want to sit with at your grad banquet. Seating is assigned for the dinner only; afterwards, everyone can move around freely and mingle. Sign-up forms are available in the office NOW. Please come by to pick one up. Sign-up will be NEXT WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY (June 3 & 4) at lunch in room 200.
Here are the details…..
1. Pick 1 friend to represent your group.
2. Tables can seat up to 10 guests. Your group can be from 1–10 people. You don’t need 10 guests to submit a group. (sign-up forms are in the office)
3. Names can only be on one list, so confirm the Grads (and Guests) who want to be in your group.
4. Fill in a Sign-up Form of who is sitting at your table (No List = No Sign-up.)
a. First and Last Name of Grad
b. First and Last Name of the Guest.
5. WEDNESDAY June 3 & THURSDAY June 4 at lunchtime: one member of your group brings the list to Room 200 (in the Science wing).
6. If you don’t sign up by the end of lunch on Thursday June 4th, tables will be assigned for you.

Thrift Event: May 27
A group of PEP 9 students is running the “Justice Thrift” event TODAY after school (3:30-5:00) in the Student Lounge. Come by to see if there are clothes, jewelry, books, shoes, and trinkets you would like to buy. All money raised will support the Red Cross. Thank you for your support.

Volunteer Opportunity: June 12

UBC MD Outreach
UBC is offering their Youth Outreach Mentorship Program. This program connects high school students with a UBC medical student, via approximately six virtual sessions. Dates and timing of the sessions will vary depending on student schedules. If you're interested in the field of medicine and community health, then this is a great opportunity to learn from someone who has this particular life experience. Rotary Youth Exchange: Info Session for the 2027–28 School Year!
Each year RYE selects a few students from Victoria to study abroad for 1 year of high school. Rotary covers most program costs, and families are responsible for flights, insurance, and personal spending money.
Two programs are offered:
• Long-Term Exchange (full school year abroad)
• Short-Term Exchange (summer exchange program)

PAC Fundraiser: Country Grocer Receipts
Here is an easy way to support your PAC year-round. Save your Country Grocer receipts and bring them to the school front office. We appreciate your participation in this fundraiser, which will benefit our school community with up to $2000 in grocery gift cards.
REMINDER - Bus Registration for 2026-2027: Deadline May 31
Reminder that there is one month remaining to complete bus transportation registration for the upcoming school year 2026/27. Registration Deadline: May 31st.
Please note:
- All registrations submitted after May 31 will be considered late.
- A $100 late fee will apply to any late registrations if a seat is offered.

If a Student is Absent or Late

Student Drivers
Reminder to all students who are parking their vehicles in the student parking lot: you are required to be registered with the school. Permission forms and parking passes ($2 each) are available with Mrs. Waller in the Accounting office; students will be required to show their drivers licence, their insurance papers, and their ICBC Driver’s Abstract.
COMMUNITY NEWS
Peninsula Youth Clinic at Shoreline Medical
At this Youth Clinic, services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities! This clinic operates on THURSDAYS, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, for Mental and Sexual Health education (there is no physician scheduled). Appointments with a physician are offered on FRIDAYS from 10:00 am – 12:00pm. Both telehealth and in-person appointments are offered for our physicians and counselors.
