¬ GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

NEW – Found: Cell Phone

If you lost your cell phone in a red case on Friday after school, please come to the office.

 

NEW – Grade 9 Immunization Forms

Immunization consent packages for grade 9 students were delivered to students today. If you have not already done so, discuss the information in the consent package with your child and include them in the decision to provide consent for immunization. Please return the completed consent form to the school office in a sealed envelope by this FRIDAY December 5. Students in grade 9 will be offered immunizations in school-based clinics in February 2026.

Grade 9 students can make an informed decision about immunization regardless of their parent/guardian/representative decision to consent or refuse immunization.  For more information visit HealthLinkBC: The Infants Act, Mature Minor Consent and Immunization.

Toys for Teens: Dec.3-10

Our 13th Annual “TOYS FOR TEENS” donation drive is coming December 3rd-10th!  Claremont collects $10 Gift Cards (or cash to purchase Gift Cards) for Teens in need in our community.  This is in support of The Zone 91.3's annual “"Willows Family Toy Drive"” that gives their donations to The Christmas Giving Network, an umbrella of local charities and organizations in Greater Victoria such as CFAX Santa’s Anonymous, The Times Colonist Fund, St. Vincent De Paul Society and more!   All donations can be made in students’ Block 2 classes; some gift card ideas for teens in need are listed below:

Food (Grocery stores, Subway, Tim Hortons, Restaurants)

Various household or personal items (Walmart, London Drugs, Shoppers)

School supplies (Staples, Dollar Stores)

Photo Packages & Student ID Cards

NEW – Claremont Band Students

Wow!  Our talented band students put on a wonderful “Heroes Amoung Us” musical event last Wednesday night, with the Greater Victoria Concert Band. They played beautifully, a wonderful showcase of their dedication, passion, and hard work. 

 

NEW – Moulin Rouge in Vancouver

If you would like to see Broadway in Vancouver's production of Moulin Rouge in January, see Ms Giordano in the dance studio for more info.

 

NEW - Claremont Drama Presents An Evening of Three Short Plays: Dec.10-13

The Claremont Drama program will soon raise the curtain on three humorous and insightful One-Act plays about high school life. The three shorter plays are titled, “Username,” “Gossip” and “Alienated”, and showcase the skills of the 34 students in our Drama 9-12 class and the 15 students of the backstage crew; students in this program include first-time to experienced performers. 

Be ready for an evening of humour, satire, mystery, insight, relevance, twists, and lots of fun. These plays are appropriate for all ages.  All tickets are $10 and are available at the door.  Showtimes run December 10th-13th, at 7:30pm in the Ridge Playhouse.

Reminder – Homework Club

Homework Club is up and running! Please drop in MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY every week, 3:15-4:15, in Room 235. Support is also available before school on TUESDAY mornings from 8:00-8:50.

Student Drivers

Reminder to all students who are parking their vehicles in the student parking lot: you are required to be registered with the school. Permission forms and parking passes ($2 each) are available with Mrs. Waller in the Accounting office; students will be required to show their drivers licence, their insurance papers, and their ICBC Driver’s Abstract.

 

COMMUNITY NEWS

Peninsula Youth Clinic at Shoreline Medical

At this Youth Clinic, services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities! This clinic operates on THURSDAYS, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, for Mental and Sexual Health education (there is no physician scheduled). Appointments with a physician are offered on FRIDAYS from 10:00 am – 12:00pm.  Both telehealth and in-person appointments are offered for our physicians and counselors.
