 THE CHRONICLE

MondaySeptember 29, 2025

It’s a great day to be a Spartan!

¬ GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

NEW - Orange Shirt Day / Day of Truth & Reconciliation

Day of Truth & Reconciliation is Sept 30th, a National day of remembrance and awareness in Canada to honour the survivors of residential school, as well as the children who never made it home. It is an opportunity for all of us to reflect on the ongoing impacts of the residential school system and our shared responsibility in the process of reconciliation.

It is great to see so many students and staff wearing orange today, as we come together to learn, reflect, and show our support for Orange Shirt Day. This day is an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of Truth and Reconciliation.  We will be holding activities TODAY in the Learning Commons.  Everyone who attends the activities will be entered into a door prize draw.  Həyšxʷq́ə

NEW – School Bus Passes

For all students that ride our school buses: the new & improved bus passes are now ready for pickup!  Tables will be set up TODAY right after school, just outside our main entrance for students to collect and sign for their new passes.

NEW - Spartan Day

Thank you to students & staff for supporting our Terry Fox/Spartan Day last week. Through our classroom donations, online donations, and food sales, our school raised over $2000 for Cancer research!  Well done to everyone involved!  It’s a great day to be a Spartan.

Grad Photos

Grad Photo appointments start TODAY, September 29th

Appointment space is limited - Book your Grad Photos NOW with Artona. Appointments are available October 1 - 5 (Sept. 29 is full). Bookings can be made online at: https://artona.com/bookings

Any Questions?  See Mrs. Knapp in the office.

Artona is pleased to offer a mobile studio to the students at Claremont Secondary. It will be located at the far end of the student parking lot.  If you have mobility issues, alternate arrangements will be coordinated for you.

A $60.00 deposit is required to book your grad photo time slot. When you order your grad pictures, this amount is fully deducted from your order. If, after seeing your proofs, you choose not to order photos, there is a link on the Artona website to request a full refund of the $60.00 deposit paid.  You have 90 days to order from your photo session, and with ordering online, your deposit is automatically applied.

Yearbook or Grad Composite Photo Only- If your child knows that they are just getting a picture for the yearbook and grad composite, there will be 1 day available in February to do that. These sessions, in September and October, are for students who want a full session with more time allocated and multiple poses.

If there is no credit card available, (for any reason, often it’s a student doing the booking instead of the parent), simply reach out to Artona directly, (or via the school) with student full name and student number and we can create a code to bypass the requirement. (usually 24-36 hour turnaround time required)
