¬ GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
NEW - Spartan Day – Sept.25
Our first Spartan Day of the year is THURSDAY Sept 25. We typically have 3 Spartan Days a year to celebrate the Spartan Nation and also give back to our community in some way. On Spartan Days we wear RED!! This year, we will be raising funds for the Terry Fox Foundation. More information to come on next week’s "TOONIES FOR TERRY” campaign.
NEW – Pizza Fundraiser Sept 19
In support of our school's Terry Fox Foundation fundraiser, the Leadership class will be selling pizza at lunch this FRIDAY Sept.19th in the cafeteria. Slices are $2.50.
Student Photos
If you had school photos taken last week, you can scan the QR to look up your image, and you can order photos directly online, if you wish.
*Deadine for free shipping to the school is to order photos by the end of TODAY.
If you have lost your QR code, you can still access your photos.

-Go to the “View and Order Photos” page.
-Choose S”chool Day Photos” option.
-Scroll down to the Link: "Don't have your access code" and follow instructions.
Zero Café
The Zero Cafe is now open! Come grab a coffee, tea, or croissant in the IGS room (room 264) before school or at lunch. Reasonable prices!
Breakfast Program
Our school breakfast program runs TUESDAYS, WEDNESDAYS & THURSDAYS from 8:30-8:55am each week. Students can purchase a toasted bagel with a topping and/or a juice box for $0.50 each. Punch cards are available for purchase from the accounting office.
Lunch Cafeteria
Our Cafeteria is open for full service, selling a selection of hot and cold items, and a variety of baked goods and drinks. Students can also purchase $10 prepaid lunch cards from Mrs. Waller in our accounting office.
NEW - Field Hockey
Congrats to the field hockey team on winning their first game of the season 3-0 versus Reynolds! There will be a team meeting TODAY at the beginning of lunch in the small gym.
NEW – Cross Country
Reminder to all X-Country members of meeting TODAY at lunch in the small gym. Please make sure to attend.
Curling Team
Anyone interested in joining the Claremont Curling team, please attend a meetingTODAY at lunch in room 310. High School Curling starts soon. No experience required.

NEW - Model UN Club
Reminder for all students interested in participating in Claremont's Model UN: we meet TODAY at lunch in Room 200 (Ms. McAvoy's Room). New members are welcome!
Board Game Club
The Board Game Club is having their first meetingTODAY at lunch in room 324. They meet every WEDNESDAY. It's no commitment - just pop by, by yourself or with friends, to play games and have snacks!
NEW – Gender and Sexuality Alliance
The Claremont GSA, that's the Gender and Sexuality Alliance, is having its first meeting this FRIDAY at lunch in the textiles room (room 276). The GSA is a student-driven social club that is open to all. Even if you haven't attended before, feel free to pop by to say hi and chat about the week.
NEW – Japanese Language and Cultural Club
The first meeting of the Japanese Language and Cultural Club is this FRIDAY at lunch. Sign up with Ms Ryall in room 302 at lunch TODAY or TOMORROW.
Math Club
The first Math contest of the year is the Lynx contest, which takes place October 2. Sign up outside room 133 or see Mr. Skanks.

**Grad Parent Meeting - Sept 23rd @ 7:45pm
Our first official Grad Parent meeting of the year will be in person on TUESDAY Sept 23rd @ 7:45pm in our Learning Commons, open to all Grad Parents/Guardians. There will be an overview presentation of important Grad topics, including events being planned, fundraising goals and opportunities, and a chance to volunteer for positions on our Grad Parent Executive Committee.
NEW - Scholarships
(1) LORAN Scholarship: Applications are now open for this year's Loran Scholarship, one of Canada's most prestigious awards. Exceptional students across Canada will be awarded up to $100,000. For more information, come to a meeting this FRIDAY at lunch in Ms. Tong's room (323).

UVic's Gustavson School of Business will have an information booth at Claremont on THURSDAY, September 25 at lunch near the front office. Come hear about the Business program, and how to apply.
Work Experience Credits
If you are a student currently working and interested in earning work experience credits, please visit the Career Centre as soon as possible.
Police Camp – Spring Break 2026
Police Camp is back, for Spring Break 2026! Police Camp is a unique youth leadership program for students in Grades 10-12 that have an interest in exploring policing and public safety.
Students will spend one week experiencing classroom lectures, physical activity, group discussions and simulations supervised by dozens of police staff.
Mark your calendars: the Police Camp information meeting is on WEDNESDAY, October 8 at lunch in the Learning Commons, then see Mr. Bussoli in the Career Centre (Room 217) to apply. Application Deadline: Nov 14, 2025.

PAC Fundraiser: Country Grocer Receipts
Here is an easy way to support your PAC year-round. Save your Country Grocer receipts and bring them to the school front office. We appreciate your participation in this fundraiser, which will benefit our school community with up to $2000 in grocery gift cards.

COMMUNITY NEWS
Peninsula Youth Clinic at Shoreline Medical
At this Youth Clinic, services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities! This clinic operates on THURSDAYS, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, for Mental and Sexual Health education (there is no physician scheduled). Appointments with a physician are offered on FRIDAYS from 10:00 am – 12:00pm. Both telehealth and in-person appointments are offered for our physicians and counselors.
