Dodgeball Intramurals

For anyone who is interested in dodgeball in intramurals, there is a sign-up QR code on posters around the school. Deadline to sign up is this FRIDAY!!!! 

 

Europe Trip July 2025

Would you like to travel to Italy, Monaco, France and Spain with us this July?  Please go and see Ms. Wells anytime in Rm. 312 to sign up!  Get a friend to join and you can save money on your own trip!

 

Attention Grade 11 and 12 Students!

Are you interested in Marine Sciences? Don’t miss out on an exciting four-day field trip to the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre, happening February 4–7, 2025!  This trip offers hands-on experiences in marine science, including time in Bamfield's world renown science labs, on the water in Bamfield's research vessel, and exploring Bamfield’s stunning beaches and coastline.  To learn more, join us for an information meeting at LUNCH in Rm. 201 TODAY, November 21 or see Mrs. Linger for details.

 

Report Cards

Report cards will be available for viewing online FRIDAY November 22 (anytime after 5:00pm); students will be able to use the Student Portal Link provided HERE.  *NOTE: A reminder that all parents/guardians now have the ability to view student grades and comments as well by signing up for a Brightspace account using the SD63 Brightspace Account Login instructions linked HERE. 

 

Parent-Teacher Conferences

Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on THURSDAY November 28 from 5:00-7:00pm.  Appointments will open for booking Monday November 25 at 5:00 pm.  Full instructions are under “Upcoming School Events” on the Claremont website at the bottom of the home page. (This will be on the website soon!)  Conferences fill up fast so book early.  Online bookings close on Thursday, November 28 at 10:00 am.  We are not able to book any appointments after the schedule closes.  Please contact the teacher to make alternate arrangements.

 

Boys Lacrosse Fundraiser

Gift your family and friends time spent together and break up the monotony of winter vacation by purchasing Victoria Royals tickets from the Boys Lacrosse program!

Parent Volunteers/Drivers

Reminder that all volunteers for School District 63 are required to complete a Criminal Record Check every three years. Sports and trips will start up quickly, so we encourage parents to be proactive and do this NOW, if you might be interested in driving; the process can take a few weeks at rush time.  The LINK to information can be found on the Claremont Secondary home page, under the Parents tab, Volunteer Information.

 

If a Student is Absent or Late

Parents are asked to please email your student’s teacher AND the Attendance Line if your student will be absent or late for class. The Link for the Claremont Attendance Line is always quick to find on the Quick Links on the Claremont website’s home page: claremont_attendance@saanichschools.ca  or by phone by calling our main phone line at 250-658-5221 and selecting Option 1 for Attendance.

Musical Theatre

Hey Claremont, do you love theatre? Then you are in luck because the critically acclaimed Les Misérables is being performed live near you. NEW – CSI Aquatics

Congratulations to Marlee Hourston, Kaiya Weaver, Tianna Paoletich, Sailor Naus and Chase Saxon for their qualification and participation in the BC Selects Distance Camp this past weekend. To qualify the swimmers had to make difficult time standards and only a small group was selected to attend the camp. Great work, team!

 

NEW – Claremont Swim Team

Congratulations to the Claremont Swim Team for qualifying and competing in the Provincial Championships this past weekend. Swimmers Lila Koropatniski and Bogdon Cirovic represented Claremont at the meet. Bogdon was second in the province in both the 50m fly and 50m back, missing out on gold by milliseconds!  Way to go, Team!

Get your Tickets NOW for the Claremont Annual Winter Gala - Grad 2025

Tickets are on sale for $50 (until November 27th).  The gala is on TUESDAY December 3.  Doors open at 6:30pm and the event goes until 10:00pm.  Semi-formal; food; drinks; dancing; professional DJ; door prizes; photo booths and lots of memories!!!  This event is for Claremont grads only – no guests.  Parents, the Grad Executive are still looking for amazing parents that can help set up.  Register now on SIGNUPGENIUS.

MRT Careers at the Royal Jubilee Hospital!

Come explore MRT careers at the Royal Jubilee Hospital!  Career areas in X-ray, Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, and Nuclear Medicine will be covered.  You can earn at least $50 per hour, after a 2-year diploma in these studies.  Seminars will be held at the Royal Jubilee Hospital - SATURDAY November 23.  Sessions are available at 9:00, 11:00, 1:00, and 3:00.  If attending, come PICK UP a WAIVER FORM in the Career Centre..... and then contact Corilee.Watters@islandhealth.ca to register!
 

Volunteer Opportunity - Coaching Basketball
A community member in the Broadmead area is seeking a student volunteer to coach her 13-yr old granddaughter in basketball one time per week.  You do not need transportation, and this opportunity could be a paid position, if it works out. Peninsula Youth Clinic

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at 2379 Bevan Avenue in Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30-7:30pm for help with any medical concern (physical, mental, and sexual health). Call 250-656-4143 to make an appointment with a physician or counsellor.  Services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities!
