NEW - Attention Grade 11 and 12 Students!
Are you interested in Marine Sciences? Don’t miss out on an exciting four-day field trip to the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre, happening February 4–7, 2025! This trip offers hands-on experiences in marine science, including time in Bamfield's world renown science labs, on the water in Bamfield's research vessel, and exploring Bamfield’s stunning beaches and coastline. To learn more, join us for an information meeting at LUNCH in Room 201 this THURSDAY November 21 or see Mrs. Linger for details.
Sr. Boys Volleyball Fundraiser
A reminder that there is a fundraiser for the Sr. Boys Volleyball team in the student lounge TODAY at LUNCH. $5 (cash only) for a MYSTERY BAG of goodies! Come out and support the team!!
NEW - Parent-Teacher Conferences
Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on THURSDAY November 28 from 5:00-7:00pm. Appointments will open for booking Monday November 25 at 5:00 pm. Full instructions are under “Upcoming School Events” on the Claremont website at the bottom of the home page. Conferences fill up fast so book early. Online bookings close on Thursday, November 28 at 10:00 am. We are not able to book any appointments after the schedule closes. Please contact the teacher to make alternate arrangements.
NEW – Report Cards
Report cards will be available for viewing online FRIDAY November 22 (anytime after 5:00pm); students will be able to use the Student Portal Link provided HERE. *NOTE: A reminder that all parents/guardians now have the ability to view student grades and comments as well by signing up for a Brightspace account using the SD63 Brightspace Account Login instructions linked HERE.

Parent Volunteers/Drivers
Reminder that all volunteers for School District 63 are required to complete a Criminal Record Check every three years. Sports and trips will start up quickly, so we encourage parents to be proactive and do this NOW, if you might be interested in driving; the process can take a few weeks at rush time. The LINK to information can be found on the Claremont Secondary home page, under the Parents tab, Volunteer Information.
If a Student is Absent or Late
Parents are asked to please email your student’s teacher AND the Attendance Line if your student will be absent or late for class. The Link for the Claremont Attendance Line is always quick to find on the Quick Links on the Claremont website’s home page: claremont_attendance@saanichschools.ca or by phone by calling our main phone line at 250-658-5221 and selecting Option 1 for Attendance.

Musical Theatre

NEW - Congratulations to Lila Koropatniski and Bogdan Cirovic who competed at the BC Swimming Provincials on the weekend. Both made it to the finals on Saturday, and a huge congratulations to Bogdan who won silver medals in 50 Fly and 50 Back! Please join us in thanking both these students for being great competitors for Claremont!
NEW – Congratulations to the Sr. Girls' Volleyball team! The girls won the silver medal at the 'AAAA' Island Championships this past weekend. The team has been ranked in, or near, the top 10 in BC all season and has qualified for the provincial championships on November 28-30 in Delta.

NEW - Volunteer Opportunity - Coaching Basketball
A community member in the Broadmead area is seeking a student volunteer to coach her 13-yr old granddaughter in basketball one time per week. You do not need transportation, and this opportunity could be a paid position, if it works out. The schedule and other logistics will be discussed when you contact the family. Peninsula Youth Clinic
The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at 2379 Bevan Avenue in Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30-7:30pm for help with any medical concern (physical, mental, and sexual health). Call 250-656-4143 to make an appointment with a physician or counsellor. Services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities!
