ScreamFest Tickets

Last night at ScreamFest was AMAZING!!!!!  There are two final nights to get your scream on: TONIGHT and THURSDAY. Tickets are on sale at lunch TODAY at the theatre BOX OFFICE. $10 per person. Cash or card. This is the biggest Halloween party in town, and it will certainly sell out for these last two night, so don’t delay!.

 

NEW - Bamfield Trip Meeting

If you have signed up for the upcoming Bamfield trip with Mrs. Linger on Nov. 6, there is a mandatory meeting TOMORROW (THURSDAY) at lunch in room 203 to go over the final details of the trip.)

A debit card was found at the end of the day on Friday. Please come to the office to claim it.

NEW – Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame

Congratulations to Darren Reisig, our CSI Lacrosse Head Coach & Teacher, who was inducted into the Greater Victoria Sports Hall of Fame last week. Mr. Reisig has an impressive legacy in Canadian lacrosse as an elite player, dedicated coach, and program builder of the CSI Lacrosse program. His lacrosse career includes playing professionally for the Vancouver Ravens, San Jose Stealth, Portland Lumberjax, and Victoria Shamrocks, earning many accolades, cups and trophies throughout his career.  He was also inducted into the Victoria Shamrocks Hall of Fame in 2010 and the Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2023.  Congratulations, Mr. Reisig!!  We are so fortunate that you are part of our Spartan Nation!

NEW – Pizza Fundraiser: October 31

The Leadership class will be selling pizza this FRIDAY, October 31st, at lunch in the cafeteria to help offset the costs of the many events and initiatives we take part in throughout the year. Pizza and Halloween just go together….. right? 

 

NEW – Winter Floral Fundraiser

The CSI Lacrosse Academy is hosting a winter fundraiser of holiday florals: poinsettias, wreaths, greenery arrangements, succulent bowls, and even a few festive plushies.  Funds go toward program costs and student travel.  This is the LINK to explore and order your winter florals.

Are you hungry for new opportunities (and maybe some pizza)? Don't miss this event to learn about local VOLUNTEER and WORK possibilities! The Pizza & Professionals Event for Youth event is on WEDNESDAY Nov.5th, 5-7pm, at the Sidney WorkBC Centre (9860 Third St, Sidney)

 

Camosun College: Hands on Health Day - Nov. 19

This is an all day event for students in Grades 9 or 10, on WEDNESDAY November 19th. 

Students will explore different health programs, including: Practical Nursing, Health Care Assistant, Medical Radiography, and Medical Lab Assistant. Sign up with Mr. Bussoli in the Career Centre.

 

Camosun College: Tech Works Day – Dec.4

This in an all day event, on THURSDAY Deccember 4th. Students will have the opportunity to explore technology-driven and tech-enabled careers through hands-on, immersive learning experiences that demonstrate how technology shapes every industry. Sign up with Mr. Bussoli in the Career Centre.

 

“Parents as Education & Career Coaches” Virtual Session – Oct.29

Education Planner BC is hosting a virtual session of “Parents as Education & Career Coaches” on WEDNESDAY, Oct 29, 6:30pm - 7:45pm.

Parents, families, and supporters are invited to register HERE to join our virtual presentation. The information will be especially helpful for families with students in grades 10-12.

Student Drivers

Reminder to all students who are parking their vehicles in the student parking lot: you are required to be registered with the school. Permission forms and parking passes ($2 each) are available with Mrs. Waller in the Accounting office; students will be required to show their drivers licence, their insurance papers, and their ICBC Driver’s Abstract.

 

COMMUNITY NEWS

Peninsula Youth Clinic at Shoreline Medical

At this Youth Clinic, services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities! This clinic operates on THURSDAYS, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, for Mental and Sexual Health education (there is no physician scheduled). Appointments with a physician are offered on FRIDAYS from 10:00 am – 12:00pm.  Both telehealth and in-person appointments are offered for our physicians and counselors.
