NEW - School Photo Packages Ready for Pick-Up
If you ordered a package of school photos, they are available for pickup TODAY at lunch outside of the office.
There are still MANY photo ID cards to be picked up in the office, too. Did you know that many businesses give students a discount if you show a school ID card?
NEW - Picture Retake Day – Oct. 16
Picture Retake Day is TOMORROW (THURSDAY), for any students that missed our first photo day (or for any students who would like to get retakes done). Photos will take place in our Choir Room during Block 1 and 2. Students will be called down over the PA by grade.
NEW - ScreamFest 2025
ScreamFest 2025 is coming up soon, October 28,29,30. This is the biggest Halloween party in town! Featuring 4 haunted walks (including a NEW family-friendly Halloween walk), midway games, food and prizes. Stay tuned…. tickets will be on sale soon, $10 per person.
NEW – ScreamFest Haunters Needed
If you would like to be a Haunter for ScreamFest and can commit to doing all three nights (Tues, Wed, Thurs October 28,29,30) then please see Mr. Plant to discuss this opportunity. There are a limited amount of roles that still need to be filled and we would love if it if you would consider volunteering! Mr. Plant can be found at lunch in the theatre or can be contacted via email at cplant@saanichschools.ca
NEW - Jr. Boys "A" Volleyball
Congratulations to the Junior Boys "A" Volleyball team who went undefeated this past weekend at the VIU Invitational Tournament. The boys won four matches (8-0) in pool play, won three matches in playoffs and, in the final, they met undefeated MEI from the Fraser Valley, where they won two straight sets (25-22, 25-21) clenching another tournament title. l players contributed in each match to the team's success and represented the school amazingly, on and off the court.
NEW – Grade 10 Jr Girls Volleyball
It has been another couple of busy weeks for the Girls Grade 10 Volleyball team. They participated in the Camosun Junior’s tournament, where they placed 3rd in the gold tier. On Thursday, they went on to win both their league games. Then on Friday, they travelled to Delta where they came 1st in the Silver tier. Way to go girls!
Their only home game of the season TOMORROW (THURSDAY) at 4pm. Come to the gym and support if you can.
NEW – Touch Rugby
For all those interested in learning how to play rugby, there's Touch Rugby on FRIDAYS, 3:30pm - 4:30pm. All are welcome, everyone and anyone.
NEW - Jr Boys Basketball
For all grade 9 & 10 boys interested in playing basketball this year: there will be tryouts for Jr Boys Bball THIS SUNDAY Oct 19, 4:00-6:00pm and TUESDAY Oct 21, 7:00-9:00pm. Both tryouts will be in the big gym. See Mr Reisig or Mr Dunlop if you cannot attend either of these tryouts. A 3rd tryout will be announced at a later date.
Sr Girls BasketBall Tryouts
Sr Girls Basketball tryouts are TODAY @ 5:15, and TOMORROW (THURSDAY) @ 3:15 in the small gym. You must attend 1 tryout to be considered for the team. See or email Ms. Dheensaw (mdheensaw@saanichschools.ca) for questions.
Sr Boys BasketBall Tryouts
To all Grade 11 and 12 boys who are interested in playing basketball this season: the first two tryouts of the year will be happening TODAY and SUNDAY Oct 19th at 7pm. Players must show up to at least one of these two tryouts to be considered for either our Sr Boys ‘A’ or Sr Boys ‘B’ Team!

Grad Wear is available to order. This is your chance to buy Grad 2026 hoodies, sweat pants, shirts, and lanyards. Order forms are at the Accounting office. Forms and payment are due on THURSDAY October 23rd.

Volunteer Opportunity – Oct.25
Cordova Bay Elementary School is looking for volunteers for their annual Hoot n' Howl! The event is on SATURDAY October 25th from 4:30-8:00pm. Volunteers will help set up, run games & contests, help out at different stations and then help take down decorations at the end of the night. Volunteers will get pizza as well. Education Planner BC is hosting a virtual session of “Parents as Education & Career Coaches” on WEDNESDAY, Oct 29, 6:30pm - 7:45pm.

NEW - CPAC Meeting – Oct.21
Our second CPAC meeting of the year will be held on TUESDAY Oct 21st from 7:00-8:30pm in our Learning Commons. The main focus of this meeting will be the overall PAC budget, as we collectively decide how to allocate funds to programs, purchases and initiatives that benefit Claremont students. Here is an easy way to support your PAC year-round. Save your Country Grocer receipts and bring them to the school front office. We appreciate your participation in this fundraiser, which will benefit our school community with up to $2000 in grocery gift cards.

Student Drivers
Reminder to all students who are parking their vehicles in the student parking lot: you are required to be registered with the school. Permission forms and parking passes ($2 each) are available with Mrs. Waller in the Accounting office; students will be required to show their drivers licence, their insurance papers, and their ICBC Driver’s Abstract.

Peninsula Youth Clinic at Shoreline Medical
At this Youth Clinic, services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities! This clinic operates on THURSDAYS, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, for Mental and Sexual Health education (there is no physician scheduled). Appointments with a physician are offered on FRIDAYS from 10:00 am – 12:00pm. Both telehealth and in-person appointments are offered for our physicians and counselors.
