NEW – School Bus Passes
For all students that ride our school buses: the new & improved bus passes will be handed out TODAY right after school, at tables just outside our main entrance.
Spartan Wear For Sale – Orders due Oct.3
Spartan Wear is on sale; hoodies, t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, sweat pants, and lanyards. Pick up your order form from the accounts office. Sales are done by pre-order only. Orders and payment are due THIS FRIDAY, October 3rd.
NEW – Field Hockey
Congratulations to the field hockey team for their 4-0 win over Lambrick Park on Monday! Players have a meeting TODAY at the beginning of lunch in the small gym to check our numbers for this afternoon’s game. Go Spartans!
NEW - Sr Boys Volleyball
Congratulations to the Senior Boys volleyball team for their win at the Spectrum Tournament, going undefeated in pool play, then beating up-Island power houses Dover Bay in the quarters, Vanier two straight in the semi's, and spiking Highland in the final. Miles BIRNIE was picked as MVP, with Owen CHANG as Honourable Mention.
They play their FINAL league games at home TONIGHT against three teams, including Oak Bay who is undefeated so far. Games start at 6pm! Go Spartans!
Recreational Badminton
All students interested in some recreational badminton: there will be weekly sessions on THURSDAYS in our small gym from 7-9:00pm

NEW – Police Camp Meeting – Oct.8
Police Camp is back, for Spring Break 2026! Police Camp is a unique youth leadership program for students in Grades 10-12 that have an interest in exploring policing and public safety.
Students will spend one week experiencing classroom lectures, physical activity, group discussions and simulations supervised by dozens of police staff. If you are interested in attending Police Camp, please come to an informative meeting on WEDNESDAY, October 8 in the Learning Commons at 12 noon. Then see Mr. Bussoli in the Career Centre (Room 217) to apply.

Are you a Grade 11 or 12 student interested in a career in Health? Health X Day is happening at Camosun on WEDNESDAY October 15th. Sign up with Mr. Bussoli in the Career Centre (Room 217). The deadline to apply is October 10th.
Sailor For A Day – Oct.24
Are you interested in finding out about the Navy? Spend the day with the Navy in Esquimalt, during the Sailor for a Day event! Meet sailors, try activities and watch live demonstrations.
This event is all day on FRIDAY October 24, 2025. (Non-Instructional Day). See Mr. Bussoli in the Career Centre (Room 217), if you're interested in attending. Deadline for sign up: Friday, October 17.
NEW – “Parents as Education & Career Coaches” Virtual Session – Oct.29
Education Planner BC is hosting a virtual session of “Parents as Education & Career Coaches” on WEDNESDAY, Oct 29, 6:30pm - 7:45pm.
Parents, families, and supporters are invited to register HERE to join our virtual presentation. Learn about post-secondary education and career opportunities, and resources to support your student in planning for their future. The information will be especially helpful for families with students in grades 10-12.
Search thousands of programs, get to know trades, and discover career paths. Find helpful resources, including financial aid options, admission requirements, FAQs, and the Glossary. Learn how to create an account, save programs, paths, and careers to My List, and apply to post-secondary in B.C.

PAC Fundraiser: Country Grocer Receipts
Here is an easy way to support your PAC year-round. Save your Country Grocer receipts and bring them to the school front office. We appreciate your participation in this fundraiser, which will benefit our school community with up to $2000 in grocery gift cards.

Claremont has an Instagram account: @claremontsd63. This is great way to keep in the loop on school-wide information.
Student Drivers
Reminder to all students who are parking their vehicles in the student parking lot: you are required to be registered with the school. Permission forms and parking passes ($2 each) are available with Mrs. Waller in the Accounting office; students will be required to show their drivers licence, their insurance papers, and their ICBC Driver’s Abstract.
If a Student is Absent or Late

COMMUNITY NEWS
Peninsula Youth Clinic at Shoreline Medical
At this Youth Clinic, services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities! This clinic operates on THURSDAYS, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, for Mental and Sexual Health education (there is no physician scheduled). Appointments with a physician are offered on FRIDAYS from 10:00 am – 12:00pm. Both telehealth and in-person appointments are offered for our physicians and counselors.
