¬ GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Grade 9 Immunization Forms – Due Back Nov.30

Reminder that the grade 9 immunization forms are due back TODAY in the office.  Our Public Health Nurse will pick them up at the end of the day.

We hope that parents/guardians will discuss the information in the consent package with your child and include them in the decision to provide consent for immunization. Please return the completed consent form to the school office in a sealed envelope as soon as possible or by November 30, 2022.  Students in grade 9 will be offered immunizations in school-based clinics in February 2023.  Grade 9 students can make an informed decision about immunization regardless of their parent/guardian/representative decision to consent or refuse immunization.  For more information visit HealthLinkBC: The Infants Act, Mature Minor Consent and Immunization. Any questions? Please contact the local Health Unit at 250-544-2400.

Toys for Teens: Dec 1-7

Our 10th annual TOYS FOR TEENS DONATION DRIVE starts TOMORROW!! Claremont collects $10 Gift Cards for teens in need in our community. This is in support of The Zone 91.3's annual Toy Drive who give their donations to The Christmas Giving Network, an umbrella of local charities and organizations in Greater Victoria such as CFAX Santa's Anonymous, The Time Colonist Fund, St. Vincent De Paul Society and more. We will be collecting in BLOCK 3 from Dec 1-7 (5 days of collection). This is a class competition (winners get a pizza party) and a school-wide Elements competition for the badge and bragging rights.

We are asking for $10 Gift Cards that Teens would like for: coffee shops, restaurants, retail locations, music, grocery stores, drug stores, bus passes, pre-paid credit cards, etc. Cash donations are also happily accepted.  Students are encouraged to bring their donations to their Block 3 class (or the front office if they do not have a Block 3 class). Every $10 = 1 point for your class/element. Thank you for your support of this great cause and for sharing the Spartan Spirit. Happy Holidays!
