Please be advised that school will not be in session on MONDAY November 18, as staff will be working on school-based planning initiatives at the school. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday November 19th!
End of Term I & Reports Cards
Students/families are reminded that the end of Term I is this coming FRIDAY November 15. Students should be double checking that they have no missing assignments or outstanding work for any of their classes before this date arrives. Report cards will then be processed and available for viewing online FRIDAY November 22nd (anytime after 5:00pm); students will be able to use the Student Portal Link provided HERE. *NOTE: A reminder that all parents/guardians now have the ability to view student grades/comments as well by signing up for a Brightspace account using the SD63 Brightspace Account Login instructions linked HERE.

Exciting News! Wolf Pack’s Second Seattle Adventure is Coming!
Get ready for an epic journey! This May or June, the Wolf Pack is heading back to Seattle for an unforgettable adventure. We’ll be staying at the awesome Great Wolf Lodge again, but this year’s trip is packed with new and thrilling experiences! Here’s our tentative plan:
- A fresh exploration of the lava tubes at Mt. Saint Helens.
- An underground Seattle tour that’ll take you beneath the streets of this fascinating city.
- A day at a baseball game, cheering loud and proud!
- Immersing ourselves in the world of pop culture at the museum.
- Soaring to the top of the Space Needle for breathtaking views.
- Wandering through the vibrant Pike Place Market.

Parent Volunteers/Drivers
Reminder that all volunteers for School District 63 are required to complete a Criminal Record Check every three years. Sports and trips will start up quickly, so we encourage parents to be proactive and do this NOW, if you might be interested in driving; the process can take a few weeks at rush time. If a Student is Absent or Late
Parents are asked to please email your student’s teacher AND the Attendance Line if your student will be absent or late for class. The Link for the Claremont Attendance Line is always quick to find on the Quick Links on the Claremont website’s home page: claremont_attendance@saanichschools.ca or by phone by calling our main phone line at 250-658-5221 and selecting Option 1 for Attendance.

NEW – Grad Portraits in Full Swing
We still have a few more days left for Grade 12 students to get their Grad portraits completed (last day is FRIDAY November 15)! Sign up now using the following LINK (you don’t need a code, just search for Claremont); all sessions are being held in the PE portable behind our Small Gym and you can book from 10am-6pm. Taking your Grad Portrait ensures that your picture (along with your Grad Yearbook Writeup which you will be asked to submit soon) appears in our yearbook for the final time in your school career!
Lifetouch will be opening additional appointments as they fill up. Don’t miss your appointment without rescheduling as Lifetouch no longer has studio appointments available.
When signing up online, please scroll down and enter your school city and province to locate Claremont School. You will be listed with your Legal Name. No 8 Digit Code is provided for booking your appointments. Upon scheduling your session, you will receive an 8-digit Appointment Code. This code may be used to reschedule or cancel your appointment if needed.
Portrait Sitting Fees - a $30 sitting fee is required if doing a deluxe portrait sitting and getting proofs. This is payable at time of booking or is payable to the photographer at the time of your sitting. Please click continue at the bottom of the page where it says, “Pay at your session”, you do not need to pay the $30.00 online. You are asked to pay any fees owing, in person, at the time of the photo session. Preferred method of payment is debit or credit.
Yearbook Only Photos - no photo session fee is required if taking a Grad photo for the yearbook only. A photo must be taken of each grad for the yearbook and the Graduation Ceremony. When booking online once you have entered your postal code you will see below “pay at your session”, click on the small “Continue” below. Your appointment is now booked.
We encourage all grads to have their grad photos taken to ensure your Entire Graduating Class is included in the Yearbook and Composite.

Hey Students... Do you want to "create tangible solutions to real-world problems"? Come to the Career Centre to meet a representative from UVic's Engineering and Computer Science Program! You can ask Alejandro about the program's seven areas of study; co-op work placements; clubs and teams for student involvement; and how you'll be engaging in high-impact research with industry, government, and the community. Save the date! WEDNESDAY, November 13 - 6:30-7:45pm. Learn about post-secondary education and career opportunities, as well as tools to best support your student in planning for their future. Get your STYLE on!
District #63 HAIR Program Students will be visiting Claremont to demonstrate their hairstyling skills TODAY at LUNCH in the STUDENT LOUNGE. Six student volunteers have signed up to get their hair styled. Come and watch the styling in real time! Make sure to come to the Career Centre and make an appointment with Mr. Bussoli if you're interested in applying for the SD63 HAIR Program!
Country Grocer at Royal Oak - Job Opportunity
A part-time position is available for a Meat Clerk! Wages start at $17.50/hr. No experience required, but this position requires physical demand - you can lift up to 50lbs, and no problem handling fresh meats. Country Grocer Deli is Hiring!
12 hrs/week, mostly nights - 4:30 -8:30pm. Preference given if you have previous experience, but not necessary. Minimum wage to start (dependent on experience). One weekend night, and one to two during the week. Duties include: customer service, cleaning, dishes, light food prep. The deli is fast paced! The ability to multi-task is a bonus. Fun/dynamic team! Students, if you're interested in this position, go to the customer service desk at Royal Oak Country Grocer to inquire and apply.

Outreach Mentorship Program – UBC
The UBC MD Admissions Office recently launched the MD Outreach Youth Mentorship Program. This program connects high school students with UBC Medical Students to learn more about being a university student, learning about self-care, and applying to UBC medical school. Peninsula Youth Clinic
The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at 2379 Bevan Avenue in Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30-7:30pm for help with any medical concern (physical, mental, and sexual health). Call 250-656-4143 to make an appointment with a physician or counsellor. Services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities!
