NEW - ScreamFest Tickets
ScreamFest 2025 is on October 28, 29, & 30 next week. This is the biggest Halloween party in town! Featuring 4 haunted walks (including a NEW family-friendly Halloween walk), midway games, food and prizes. Tickets are on sale, starting TODAY, and EVERY DAY at lunch time at the theatre BOX OFFICE. $10 per person. TODAY will be cash only sales.
NEW – Costa Rica Trip Meeting
All students going to Costa Rica at Spring Break: there is an important meeting TOMORROW (TUESDAY) Oct.21st at lunch in room 327.
Cadets for Remembrance Day Ceremony
Calling all Cadets! If you are interested in participating in Claremont’s Remembrance Day Ceremony this year, please come to a meeting THIS WEDNESDAY, October 22 at lunch in room 301.
School Photo Packages
If you ordered a package of school photos, they are available for pickup in the office.
There are still MANY photo ID cards to be picked up in the office, too. Did you know that many businesses give students a discount if you show a school ID card?
NEW - Junior Boys "A" Volleyball
Congratulations to the Junior Boys "A" Volleyball team who continued their undefeated season this past weekend at The Spectrum Invitational Volleyball Tournament. The boys won their pool in straight sets and went undefeated in playoffs. Go Spartans!
NEW – Sr Girls Volleyball
The Sr Girls Volleyball team had a strong performance at the North Shore Invitational volleyball tournament. The tourney featured several top ranked teams from across the province, and the Sr Girls delivered! The girls won their pool, going 6-0 including a straight set win over #10 ranked Riverside. In the quarter finals, they beat the #2 ranked team, Walnut Grove, winning in three sets. We then beat the #3 ranked AA team in the semi finals to set up a rematch with South Delta. The Spartans were crushing it in the first set, building a large lead, and then….. the power went out! In darkness, the game was called after about 25 mins of waiting.
NEW - Sr Girls Basketball
Sr Girls Basketball tryouts are rescheduled to THIS WEDNESDAY @ 5:15, and THURSDAY @ 3:15 in the small gym. You must attend 1 tryout to be considered for the team. See or email Ms. Dheensaw (mdheensaw@saanichschools.ca) for questions.
Jr Boys Basketball
For all grade 9 & 10 boys interested in playing basketball this year: tryouts for Jr Boys Bball continue TOMORROW (TUESDAY), 7:00-9:00pm in the in the big gym. See Mr Reisig or Mr Dunlop if you cannot attend the tryouts. A 3rd tryout will be announced at a later date.

Volunteer Opportunity – Oct.25
Cordova Bay Elementary School is looking for volunteers for their annual Hoot n' Howl! The event is on SATURDAY October 25th from 4:30-8:00pm. Volunteers will help set up, run games & contests, help out at different stations and then help take down decorations at the end of the night. Volunteers will get pizza as well. Camosun College: Hands on Health Day - Nov. 19
This is an all day event for students in Grades 9 or 10, on WEDNESDAY November 19th.
Students will explore different health programs, including: Practical Nursing, Health Care Assistant, Medical Radiography, and Medical Lab Assistant. Sign up with Mr. Bussoli in the Career Centre.
Camosun College: Tech Works Day – Dec.4
This in an all day event, on THURSDAY Deccember 4th. Students will have the opportunity to explore technology-driven and tech-enabled careers through hands-on, immersive learning experiences that demonstrate how technology shapes every industry. Sign up with Mr. Bussoli in the Career Centre.
“Parents as Education & Career Coaches” Virtual Session – Oct.29
Education Planner BC is hosting a virtual session of “Parents as Education & Career Coaches” on WEDNESDAY, Oct 29, 6:30pm - 7:45pm.
Parents, families, and supporters are invited to register HERE to join our virtual presentation. Learn about post-secondary education and career opportunities, and resources to support your student in planning for their future. The information will be especially helpful for families with students in grades 10-12.

CPAC Meeting – Oct.21
Our second CPAC meeting of the year will be held TOMORROW (TUESDAY) Oct 21st from 7:00-8:30pm in our Learning Commons. The main focus of this meeting will be the overall PAC budget, as we collectively decide how to allocate funds to programs, purchases and initiatives that benefit Claremont students. PAC Fundraiser: Country Grocer Receipts
Here is an easy way to support your PAC year-round. Save your Country Grocer receipts and bring them to the school front office. We appreciate your participation in this fundraiser, which will benefit our school community with up to $2000 in grocery gift cards.

Student Drivers
Reminder to all students who are parking their vehicles in the student parking lot: you are required to be registered with the school. Permission forms and parking passes ($2 each) are available with Mrs. Waller in the Accounting office; students will be required to show their drivers licence, their insurance papers, and their ICBC Driver’s Abstract.

Peninsula Youth Clinic at Shoreline Medical
At this Youth Clinic, services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities! This clinic operates on THURSDAYS, 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm, for Mental and Sexual Health education (there is no physician scheduled). Appointments with a physician are offered on FRIDAYS from 10:00 am – 12:00pm. Both telehealth and in-person appointments are offered for our physicians and counselors.
