NEW – Drop Date Deadline For Courses – May 31

Important Notice for all students (especially grade 11 and 12 students): the last official day to drop a course from your timetable, so it doesn’t show up on your transcript, will be NEXT FRIDAY, May 31st.  Please ensure that if you still need to drop a course, you do so as soon as possible by checking in with one of our school counsellors.


NEW - Lost & Found

A light blue denim pencil case was left next door on the Cordova Bay Church steps last week, presumably by one of our students.  It can be claimed at the church office. Hours are Mondays/Wednesdays: 9am – 11:30am. Tuesdays/Thursdays: 9am – 2pm

cc350 - May 24

The Claremont cc350 is THIS FRIDAY: a full day of fun & cycling for change!! This year the CC350 will raise funds for the BC Sierra Club and their incredible work with eco conservation. There is still time to sign up a team: head to the IGS room at lunch for more info and to sign up!

After School Homework Club

For all students who would like extra help in academic classes, help from Education Assistants is available four days a week (MONDAY-THURSDAY) for one hour after school in room 235. All academic subjects are welcome. This is open to all students in all grades.



Claremont Musical Theatre Presents: “Anything Goes”… May 23 - June 1

Claremont Musical Theatre’s presentation of “Anything Goes” opens TOMORROW (THURSDAY NIGHT)!  “Anything Goes" is a classic Broadway musical set in the 1930s on a ship headed from New York to England, with music by Cole Porter and lots of laughs! We have about 75 students involved in the production in our cast, crew and orchestra. It's a fun night out!

Performance dates are May 23-25 and May 29 – June 1 at 7 pm.  Additional matinees May 25th and June 1st at 1 pm.  All tickets are $17.50 in advance or $20 at the door. Purchase tickets through your SD63 online account LINK or in person at the accounting office.  For questions, please call Mrs. Waller at 250-658-5221 ext. 81572.



Boys & Girls Lacrosse – Bottle Drive May 25

Claremont’s lacrosse programs are having a bottle drive THIS SATURDAY May 25, 9:00-1:00 in front of the school. This is a great chance to get rid of your empties, while supporting our lacrosse athletes.

FoodSafe Training – June 8

YEP (Youth Engagement Program) is hosting a Level 1 FoodSafe TrainingSATURDAY, June 8, 9am-4:30pm at Shoal Centre - 10030 Resthaven Drive, Sidney.

Volunteer Opportunity

Volunteers are needed at Kids Art in the Park at the Brentwood Bay Festival!  This is a fun community event, where there will be a parade, and variety of vendors and entertainers. Volunteers are needed to help lead kids through art activities and crafts.

Volunteer Opportunity

Northridge Elementary School (on Carey Rd.) is planning a Fun Fair at their school, and they need volunteers to help with face painting, and assisting with games and activities.  Event is FRIDAY May 31, 4-9pm. Student Lifeguards Needed

Health X-Ploration Day – May 28

If you are considering a career in the Health Care Industry, sign up for a field trip to Camosun College, for a Health 'X-ploration' Day! Students will explore dual credit pathways in various health programs including practical nursing, health care assistant, medical radiography, and certified medical lab assistant. Island Ignite Summer Event: July 12-14

Are you interested in being a Firefighter and want to test it out? Female students going into Grades 11 and 12 are invited to join a two-day, hands-on event in Victoria, July 12-14.  Applications are being accepted now!  Visit the Career Centre for more information and to apply.



CPAC Staff Appreciation Lunch May 29

Learning Through Loss – Youth Event May 26

Learning Through Loss is hosting a free community event for students, Eat Play Influence, on Sunday May 26th - 12:00-3:30. 

Location: Fort Tectoria - 777 Fort St. 

This event is for students interested in learning more about how their positive influence can help youth in the Grief and Loss community and discover the healing powers of youth advocacy. Peninsula Youth Clinic

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at 2379 Bevan Avenue in Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30-7:30pm for help with any medical concern (physical, mental, and sexual health). Call 250-656-4143 to make an appointment with a physician or counsellor.  Services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities!
