NEW - Fill Buck’s Truck Food Drive
Thank you to our Spartan community for the generous donations to our food drive. You have made a big difference for so many families. Congratulations to the Block 1 winners who collected the largest tally of items: Ms. Harris’s PE 10 boys!!! You have won a breakfast party!
NEW – Wolfpack Trip Meeting
There is a Seattle Wolfpack Trip meeting TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY) at lunch in room 327. Travellers, please return your forms. If you are interested in this trip, come get the info.
cc350 - May 24
The Claremont cc350 is on the horizon and rider sign-ups are now open. This year the CC350 will raise funds for the BC Sierra Club and their incredible work with eco conservation. The event is on FRIDAY May 24th and will be a full day of fun & cycling for change. Grab a few friends and head to the IGS room at lunch for more info and to sign up!
New School Bus Registration Information
If you plan to ride the school bus next year, there is new information about FEES and registration. Please see all information on the SD63 website Transportation page: saanichschools.ca/resources/studentsfamilies/transportation.
After School Homework Club
For all students who would like extra help in academic classes, help from Education Assistants is available four days a week (MONDAY-THURSDAY) for one hour after school in room 235. All academic subjects are welcome. This is open to all students in all grades.

Claremont Musical Theatre Presents: “Anything Goes”… May 23 - June 1
Performance dates are May 23-25 and May 29 – June 1 at 7 pm. Additional matinees May 25th and June 1st at 1 pm. All tickets are $17.50 in advance or $20 at the door. The girls’ lacrosse program is having a raffle this week. Tickets can be bought in the Student Lounge TODAY and TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY).

INDIGENOUS EDUCATION
Moose Hide Campaign Day – May 16
The Moosehide Campaign is THIS THURSDAY May 16th. This is a grassroots movement of Indigenous and non-Indigenous men and boys who are standing up against violence towards women and children. The Campaign also supports the National Inquiry into the disproportionate numbers of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. We encourage our students to wear a moosehide pin to support the cause. Pins will be available at the office for those who would like to pick one up. More info: Moose Hide Campaign
Beading Workshop – May 15
For all of our Indigenous, Inuit, and Metis students: if you are interested in a Moose Hide Campaign beading workshop TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY), please let Mr. Slade or Darian know ASAP. A guest Metis artist will be here to teach us about beading.

Summer Job Opportunity
Final reminder: Cordova Bay United Church is looking for a young person, who can work independently as a Programs Assistant under the federal government’s Canada Summer Jobs program. The position involves office administration, working with children and youth, electronic communications, and special projects. Duration of job: June 3-August 30. $19/hour, 30 hours/week. The training hours required during June might be able to be flexible. Application deadline is TOMORROW May 15. Reminder for those students who are attending UVic in the Fall, there is a Registration 101 Session TODAY at lunch time (11:45-12:30) in the Career Centre (room 217). Learn how to be prepared for every aspect of course registration coming up in June: how to stay organized and choose first-year courses, build a course timetable, navigate the UVic registration system, and more! Health X-Ploration Day – May 28
If you are considering a career in the Health Care Industry, sign up for a field trip to Camosun College, for a Health 'X-ploration' Day! Students will explore dual credit pathways in various health programs including practical nursing, health care assistant, medical radiography, and certified medical lab assistant. Island Ignite Summer Event: July 12-14

Learning Through Loss – Youth Event May 26
Learning Through Loss is hosting a free community event for students, Eat Play Influence, on Sunday May 26th - 12:00-3:30.
Location: Fort Tectoria - 777 Fort St.
This event is for students interested in learning more about how their positive influence can help youth in the Grief and Loss community and discover the healing powers of youth advocacy. Peninsula Youth Clinic
The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at 2379 Bevan Avenue in Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30-7:30pm for help with any medical concern (physical, mental, and sexual health). Call 250-656-4143 to make an appointment with a physician or counsellor. Services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities!
