¬ GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
2023-2024 Course Selection Forms
Course selection forms were handed out to our current grade 9, 10 & 11 students on Wednesday. If students were absent, they can pick up their course selection forms from the office. We encourage families to have thoughtful conversations about course choices before making selections. Please be sure about your choices before submitting your form. Deadline is FRIDAY March 3.
Application Forms for Programs of Choice (Claremont Sports Institute, Pursuit of Excellence, and Institute for Global Solutions) are available on the Claremont website on the Registration page (click on the Registration Quick Link). Applications for Programs of Choice are due back in the office by FRIDAY March 3 (attached to a Course Selection Form).
2023-2024 Course Book
The digital Course Book for the 2023-2024 school year is posted on the Claremont website on the Registration Page. Families can familiarize themselves with course offerings, specialty programs and pathways to graduation.
Dual Credits Courses – Info Poster
Students interested in Dual Credit Courses, check out the info poster by the Student Lounge! Each course is outlined, with information about course topics, pre-requisites, credits gained, and more. You can also see these descriptions in the digital Course Book for 2023-24.
Encourage kids to READ
Come to the Learning Commons, grab a bookmark and colour them - then we'll send them to Lochside and Cordova Bay Elementary students. Choose from a variety of designs.
After School Homework Club
For all students who would like extra help in academic classes, help from Education Assistants is available four days a week (MONDAY-THURSDAY) for one hour after school in room 235. All academic subjects are welcome, but especially if you are struggling in Math & Science. This is open to all students in all grades.
Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club is running on TUESDAY and THURSDAY mornings (before block 1) at the Spartan Store. All students are welcome to come by for a bagel (with choice of spreads) and a juice box. Items are $.25 each.

Senior Girls Soccer tryouts are THIS TUESDAY February 28th after school.

Grad Fundraiser: Krispy Kreme Donuts – March 4
Krispy Kreme Donuts will be on sale on SATURDAY March 4th, 11:00-3:00, at 2 locations: Royal Oak Plaza (Co-Op) and Broadmead Plaza (Canadian Tire) and we are also doing PRE-SALES. Grad Fundraiser: Ongoing Bottle Drive
An easy way to support the 2023 Grad Class is by donating empty bottles and beverage containers throughout the school year until June at the Bottle Depot location at Glanford/Quadra. Account name is “Claremont Grad 2023.” Thank you for supporting the grad class of 2023.

Criminal Justice Info Session – March 1
Camosun College is hosting a Criminal Justice Information Session! There will be over 40 Community and Criminal Justice organizations attending. This informal event provides the opportunity for students to meet one on one to learn about the agencies, their roles and responsibilities, and career information.

Island Health is hiring people aged 16-17 for part-time work, $17/hr. As a Minor Test Shopper, you participate in conducting compliance checks for Tobacco & Vapour Prevention and Control, attempting to buy products from retailers. Summer Employment with Saanich School District
Grade 12 Students: The Saanich School District #63 will be hiring summer staff in the Custodial Department! Full-time, union positions will be available from the end of June until end of August, with the opportunity for continuing employment. Earn competitive wages vs. minimum wage. Peninsula Youth Clinic
The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at 2379 Bevan Avenue in Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30-7:30pm for help with any medical concern (physical, mental, and sexual health). Call 250-656-4143 to make an appointment with a physician or counsellor. Services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities!
