Robotics
At this weekend's Island Robotics Tournament in Comox, Claremont finished in first place out of 28 teams. Congratulations to team members Halayna MANHAS, Brayden UPSHON, and Josh GANT for their efforts and being recognized as the top robotics team at the tournament. Well done!!
After School Homework Club
For all students who would like extra help in academic classes, help from Education Assistants is available four days a week (MONDAY-THURSDAY) for one hour after school in room 235. All academic subjects are welcome, but especially if you are struggling in Math & Science. This is open to all students in all grades.
Lost & Found
A lost & found table will be set up in the horseshoe hallway TODAY until THURSDAY. Please take a look at the warm jackets and miscellaneous items and see what belongs to you!
As well, a valuable GOLD & DIAMOND ring was found in the school. Please identify and claim at the office.
Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club is running on TUESDAY and THURSDAY mornings (before block 1) at the Spartan Store. All students are welcome to come by for a bagel (with choice of spreads) and a juice box. Items are $.25 each.

Festive Music Concert – Dec. 15
Our Claremont Choir will take part in a festive benefit concert for SD63 Music Programs THIS THURSDAY Dec.15 @ 7:30pm at Mary Winspear Centre. This concert is presented by Festive Brass and showcases the choral talents of students from Claremont, Stelly’s & Parkland.

Attention grads! Grad Fundraiser: Bottle Drive – January 8
There will be a Bottle Drive at Claremont School on SUNDAY January 8. More details to come. Heads up Grads: your help will be needed to help with delivering flyers in December and on the date of the bottle drive!!
Grad Fundraiser: Ongoing Bottle Drive
An easy way to support the 2023 Grad Class is by donating empty bottles and beverage containers throughout the school year until June at the Bottle Depot location at Glanford/Quadra. Account name is “Claremont Grad 2023.” Thank you for supporting the grad class of 2023.

Our district Parent Advisory Committee (called COPACS - Council of Parent Advisory Committees of Saanich) wants to hear from district families about speakers and resources that would be helpful to support you and your child(ren) grow and learn at school.
The COPACS Parent/Guardian Resource Committee has created this SHORT SURVEY for parents and guardians - please share with others and provide your thoughts by January 3rd. Our school PAC will hear about the results and can potentially coordinate speakers and resources with other schools.

Triple Threat Performers Present the Musical “Into the Woods”
Dec.14, 15, 16, 17
The Triple Threat Performers will be presenting the musical, "Into the Woods" at the Ridge Playhouse this week WEDNESDAY thru SATURDAY. This story incorporates classic fairy tales like Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, and Cinderella to teach us lessons about wishing. We follow the Baker and his Wife on their journey to complete the Witch's wish so that they may have a child. This musical is filled with magic, mystery, loss, beauty, and adventure! It is recommended that audience members are aged 4+. Five of our very own Claremont students are in this cast: Kate, David, Oliver, Hayden & Brendan!!
5 performances. Show times are Dec. 14, 15, 16, & 17 @ 7pm nightly, plus a Saturday Dec.17 matinee @ 2pm. Tickets can be ordered at TripleThreatPerformers.ca or HERE ahead of time, or $20 at the door. **Claremont staff & Claremont students $10 with current school photo I.D. card at the door.** Thank you for supporting community theatre.
Peninsula Youth Clinic
The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at 2379 Bevan Avenue in Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30-7:30pm for help with any medical concern (physical, mental, and sexual health). Call 250-656-4143 to make an appointment with a physician or counsellor. Services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities!
