Blood Donor Clinic – May 13
Claremont will be hosting a blood drive on MONDAY May 13 in the small gym, 10:00-4:45. It is open to eligible students aged 17 years or older, staff, and the public. The sign-up for appointment times is all done through Canadian Blood Services - on the app, on the website or by phone. For questions, please see Ms. Chapman in the math wing. New School Bus Registration Information
If you plan to ride the school bus next year, there is new information about FEES and registration. Please see all information on the SD63 website Transportation page: saanichschools.ca/resources/studentsfamilies/transportation.
After School Homework Club
For all students who would like extra help in academic classes, help from Education Assistants is available four days a week (MONDAY-THURSDAY) for one hour after school in room 235. All academic subjects are welcome. This is open to all students in all grades.

Claremont Musical Theatre Presents: “Anything Goes”… May 23 - June 1
Performance dates are May 23-25 and May 29 – June 1 at 7 pm.

NEW - Golf
Congratulations to the Claremont golfers who won the 23-school two-day golf tournament at Olympic view hosted by the Victoria Police. 12 golfers participated in representing Claremont on three different teams. Our Spartans represented themselves, and the school, very well. The team of Milan SANGHA, Matt MILKOWSKI, Caleb DUKES and Anson ZHAO won the event! St. Georges private school from Vancouver placed second and Wellington Secondary school from Nanaimo placed 3rd!! Additional congratulations to Alec HOLLAND, who won the boys Par 3 KP Award.
Rugby – Scrum Fest April 25 & 26
Scrum Fest continues TODAY. There will be plenty of good rugby action on both the upper and lower fields all day. Thank you to classes who are able to support our Spartan rugby players over our two-day event. You can also support the team by getting some food from our concession on the track. Burgers, hot dogs, chips, drinks, and candy. Cash only please. Find the concession at the bottom of the stairs next to the upper field.

Scholarships – Application Deadline April 30
Attention Grads: The District and Schools Scholarships Application Portal is open. Over $60,000 in scholarships and bursaries are available to grade 12s planning to enter post-secondary institutions. Applications will be accepted online until April 30th. To apply, go to the Scholarships page on the Claremont website. Detailed information about each scholarship can be found there, as well in the District and School Scholarships Handbook.
Grad 2024 Fundraiser – Online Silent Auction – April 11-26
This year's grads are looking forward to a dinner & dance at the brand new event space Sngequ House at the University of Victoria at the end of June. All proceeds from this auction will go to supporting the costs of this and other year-end celebrations for our 2024 graduates.

NEW – Summer Job Opportunity
Cordova Bay United Church (around the corner from Claremont) is looking for a motivated, hardworking, flexible young person, who can work independently, as a Programs Assistant under the federal government’s Canada Summer Jobs program. The position involves office administration, working with children and youth, utilizing electronic communication techniques, as well as special projects.

NEW – Health X-Ploration Day
If you are considering a career in the Health Care Industry, sign up for a field trip to Camosun College, for a Health 'X-ploration' Day! Students will explore dual credit pathways in various health programs including practical nursing, health care assistant, medical radiography and certified medical lab assistant. Event dates are either May 15 or May 28. Date/times will be determined, based on interest and attendance numbers. See Mr. Bussoli in the Career Centre to sign up!
Saanich Police Youth Leadership Certificate!
The District of Saanich’s Youth Division is pleased to announce the Saanich Police Youth Leadership Certificate. In this hands-on program, mentors help students gain leadership skills to put towards future employment or post-secondary education. The program is perfect for youth who are interested in future work in a community setting, human services role, or as a first responder with Police, Fire, Ambulance, or the Coast Guard.

NEW - Science Rendezvous STEM Festival – May 11
Science Rendezvous is one of Canada’s largest, FREE, one-day STEM festivals. This event is a great opportunity for students and families of all ages to engage in science in a fun and interactive way
Science Rendezvous is hosted by UVic, Camosun College, and Ocean Networks Canada, and offers students K-12, educators, and science enthusiasts of all ages the opportunity to engage in hands-on STEM learning by participating in 35+ activities side-by-side with real, world-renowned scientists, engineers, mathematicians, and computer and software experts who live right here in Victoria.
Walk through a state-of-the-art greenhouse, peer at the stars using the largest telescope on any Canadian university campus, demo the latest tech for renewable energy, investigate a human skeleton to uncover who they once were, experiment with lasers, explore the ocean…there’s science galore at Science Rendezvous!
